Weatherer Bailey Bragg team completes Fun Run for the Meningitis Trust

A 12-strong team of runners from Sutton accountants, Weatherer Bailey Bragg, beat the heat to complete their first Great Midlands Fun Run, all to raise money for the Meningitis Trust. The team, led by partner at Weatherer Bailey Bragg, Steve Horsley, chose the charity as a mark of thanks for the support he and his wife Deborah Horsley, also a partner at the firm, received when their young son, Oliver, was struck by the illness as a baby. |

Oliver, now age three, was suffering the viral form of the disease which left him desperately ill, but the frightened parents contacted the Meningitis Trust and received “fantastic” help and advice.
Their efforts in the 8.5-mile Fun Run, which took place in Sutton Coldfield on Sunday (May 31) was payback for that support.
“The team did really well in the end,” said Deborah.
“Everyone finished, despite the heat and despite the fact that most of us had never taken part before. There was a great atmosphere and the crowds were so good, especially towards the finish line. They really spurred us on.”
The team have not yet counted up how much money they have raised through the event, but hope to make a “substantial award” to the Meningitis Trust later this year.
