
Alan Weatherer FCCAAlan is a senior partner and co-founder of Weatherer Bailey Bragg LLP.
Having spent 14 years in industry culminating as a financial director, Alan qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1979 and immediately set up in private practice.
Alan has used his experience in industry to nurture over a number of years several small owner managed businesses into multi million pound turnover operations with commensurate profits. His success is evidenced by a number of management buy-outs or company outright sales for significant sums. He has helped to negotiate the sale price and managed the deals to conclusion.
In addition to working on tax enquiry cases, including Special Civil Investigations, Alan also advises UK expatriates of their financial and tax implications relating to their continuing business interests. He also advises foreign nationals of their UK taxation obligations.

Steve Horsley FCCASteve joined Weatherer Bailey Bragg in 1991 and after qualifying as a Chartered Certified Accountant in 1995, he has played an instrumental role in the growth of the practice.
Steve is now practice managing partner and is responsible for the planning and strategic development of the business, thereby ensuring that the firm operates efficiently and effectively to provide a proactive and professional service to its clients.
Using his practice development skills and expertise in dealing with client’s business affairs for over 20 years, Steve has a wealth of experience to offer advice to businesses on a variety of accountancy matters including audit and taxation and he provides practical solutions to problems encountered by them.
Technically strong, Steve has provided assistance to numerous clients helping them to drive the development of their business, whist maintaining a tax efficient business model. He also advises entrepreneurs on business turnaround and corporate restructuring.

Richard
Miner FCCA ACARichard qualified over 20 years ago and is a member of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He has a real passion to see owner managed businesses succeed and has overall responsibility for Weatherer Bailey Bragg’s expanding entrepreneurial services division.
An expert in his field, Richard is able to provide commercial clients of the firm with practical advice on acquisition and disposal, growth strategy and value enhancement. raising finance, systems implementation and recruitment. This will often be a natural progression from the annual accounts and audit process.
Richard has always believed that clients set out to make an honest profit, provide for their retirement and value unbiased and independent advice, a philosophy that has served him well during his career whether he has been working within a business or as an external adviser. He has helped a significant number of entrepreneurs to create substantial amounts of wealth whilst acting as senior manager and later partner at a leading regional firm of accountants before joining a prestigious national accountancy practice as partner.
Richard has also been the group finance director at a large privately owned international manufacturing business and is currently a non-executive director and member of the audit committee for a local NHS Primary Care Trust that has responsibility for a budget approaching £1 billion.

Deborah Horsley FCCA ACADeborah is a member of both the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
She has over 20 years experience within the accountancy profession at both regional and international practices and in that time has looked after a wide range of clients from sole traders to Public Limited Companies including a number of clients in specialist industry sectors.
From an audit background, Deborah’s strengths lie in problem solving and ensuring that client’s meet their compliance and reporting obligations.
Deborah prides herself on offering a personal and friendly service, her belief that working alongside clients in their business gives her best insight into how to effectively advise them.
Deborah joined Weatherer Bailey Bragg as audit partner at the beginning of 2009 and is responsible for ensuring that whilst audits are conducted using best practice and international auditing standards, they also provide a value added and meaningful conclusion to the client.
Deborah brings with her a wealth of experience that will enhance an already strong team.

Paul
Henson - Tax Manager Paul trained with H M Revenue and Customs and worked at two tax districts in the Midlands before joining a major international firm of chartered accountants in their personal tax department. A further move to a leading mid tier firm of chartered accountants followed where he was a personal tax manager for six years including dealing with Lloyds Underwriters.
Using his considerable skills obtained over many years, Paul set up his own tax consultancy, principally dealing with individuals in the entertainment industry.
Paul joined WBB as a tax manager in 1999 to deal with tax compliance work and Revenue enquiries.

Ian
Scott - Tax Manager Ian trained with H M Revenue and Customs and before moving into practice he was an Inspector of Taxes at one of the Central London districts.
During his career at a major international firm and two well known mid tier national firms of Chartered Accountants, he acquired a vast knowledge of the tax sector at both compliance and planning levels.
Ian has significant experience in income and corporate tax, mergers and acquisitions, share valuations, capital gains and inheritance tax planning together with enquiry work and special civil investigations. He has worked with a number of well known UK tax specialists as well as leading tax counsel.
Ian joined WBB in 2001 to expand the tax consultancy department and to provide strategic tax advice for start up businesses through to well-established businesses contemplating ultimate sale. His technical knowledge enables him to identify potential problems and to provide solutions.
